Welcome Electric Bassists

What is The Electric Bass Companion? The Electric Bass Companion is a tool to help bass players learn the notes and scale patterns on the fingerboard. As a beginner you can use this program to learn major and minor scales on your 4-string bass. As an experienced player, this program will help you learn any custom scale pattern, in custom tunings, in any key, using 4,5,6,7, or an 8 string bass. This simple musician's tool will be your companion as you learn to play the electric bass.

News:
October 9, 2005 - WOW! I can hardly believe it's been just over 3 years since the release the Electric Bass Companion v2.5, and over 10 years since the release of version 2.0. Time flies when you're having fun! Thank you again to everyone who has paid the nominal $10 registration fee to support independent shareware. I hope you enjoy the program! -Webb

December 9, 2004 - Let me brutally honest... I'd like to take this moment to BEG for some registrations. (pretty pretty please, with sugar on top) Once again, this program was not written by a multi-billion dollar mega-corporation (obviously)... just me, Webb Pickersgill. We've had tens-of-thousands of downloads, but honestly only a very small handful of registrations. I'm VERY happy that so many people have found this program useful!!! However reality is setting in: I'm bareley breaking even with the costs of bandwidth to host this site.
So.... in the interest of the holiday season, please help support the underdog shareware writer (that would be me) and register your version today! I don't mind begging. :) Thanks for listening, and I hope everyone has a safe and happy holiday season! -Webb

February 9, 2004 - It's been a while since I've posted news, but I'm still here. Once again I appreciate all that have supported this program by registering it. I am aware of some hacks/cracks for this program. I cannot comprehend why someone would go through the trouble of writing a hack to circumvent a measly $10 registration fee. I am not a large, evil, multi-billion dollar company. I am just a one-man-shop, trying to share some of my knowledge with the world and make a small, reasonable fee for doing so. I do not have the resources to even begin to try to stop this hack from circulating. So... Every registration I get renews my faith that people, despite this hack may exist, still know how to do the "right" thing. To all that have registered, I TRUELY appreciate your support. Thanks! -Webb

November 11, 2002 - Thanks again to everyone who has already registered.! I received an email today from a user who was confused why the print feature was not enabled after he had registered. I apologize for this confusion and I have updated the About page and Registration page to make this more clear. Printing is no longer a feature in version 2.5. I want people to know exactly what they are getting before they register. Thanks for bringing this confusion to my attention!

September 12, 2002 - The Electric Bass Companion v2.5 has been released!!! Enjoy!

September 8, 2002 - In preparation of the newest release, 2.5, we have updated the ENTIRE basscompanion.com website. Let me know what you think of the new design by sending an email to info@basscompanion.com
